Conflicting results are not a problem to eliminate. They are information. Handled correctly, they tell you something true and specific about the domain you are studying: where the evidence is still live, where methodology shapes outcome, where context is doing more work than anyone admits.

Why Study Results Conflict in the First Place
Study results conflict for four main reasons, and knowing which one applies changes everything about how you resolve it.

That is a synthesis position. It adds information. It gives a reader more than either source alone. It does not pretend the conflict did not exist — it explains it.
Step 5: Document What You Cannot Resolve
Not every conflict resolves cleanly. Sometimes two high-quality studies with similar designs still produce different results, and you do not have enough information to determine why.
That is a valid finding. State it explicitly:
